Puppy spring break...

It has been a fun spring break here in Alabama, but yesterday morning just took the cake as far as funny moments with Eve Belle during my extra time around the house.

Mr. Jones left for work around 7:30, so I was awake, and managed to get out of bed pretty quickly. At about 7:50, I decided to get my workout done and hop on the treadmill in our office.

This was how I left the little pup....

And I worked out for an hour, did a load of laundry, and came back into our room...

This is what I found...

She was still being lazy and loving it, but her eyes were open slightly and her tongue was hanging out. So I left her, and started getting ready. Everything from the shower to the hair dryer ran, and by the time I was done, not much had changed for her.

She'd even gone back to sleep. She finally drug herself out of bed around 10:30 when I put fresh food down for her. But I just had to giggle at what a lazy dog she is in the morning. She got some extra sleep in yesterday for sure, because after I ran errands and ate lunch (about 6 house out of the house), when I came back home, she was WIRED and ready to play.

It's a dogs life around here this week!

A little note from EB...

Woof!

Well hello there. Mom disappeared to work early this morning, so I thought I'd steal her laptop and have a little fun today. 

It's almost time for spring and a haircut, according to my Mom... but I'm still loving the lazy mornings and blankets on a cold day. Really. This was me a little earlier. And Mom and Dad think the bed is theirs. Ha!

When I do finally wake up, I like to wander around the house, and I take over all my favorite spots. No blanket is safe.

Now I'm going to go curl up somewhere else and sleep some more. And maybe go eat a little too. We'll see. Y'all have fun today....

After-Christmas blues...

Just a normal {dog} day...

It's been... at least a couple of days since I last shared a pictures of our darling pup, so I figured today she gets her own post after I snapped some adorable pictures of her this morning.

Eve Belle loves her beauty sleep, that's for sure. After I get up in the morning, she takes my spot and lays her head on my pillow. If she hasn't already pushed me out of that spot during the night... yeah, she's that kind of dog.

Today, she snuggled right up, and I wanted to play, so I pulled the covers up for her and started petting her and talking to her.... Whomp, whomp. She rolled over, the universal sign for "No, mama. Leave me alone."

At least I'm not the only one in our household who loses my spot to the dog. EB stole Brett's chair last night, blanket and all.

A little Christmas pup...

I love December. I love holidays. I love decorations. I love Christmas.

But what I love more than just about anything this time of year? Is my little Christmas pup. We got her on Dec. 18 four years ago. We brought her home on our first anniversary on Dec. 20. So while her birthday is in September, I find myself extra grateful for the snuggles, love and fun we have this time of year with our little EB.

I wanted to share some fun little pictures of our puppy love with her new Christmas hedgehog. Seriously. Hedgehogs are her favorite, so when I saw a Christmas one when I was out shopping with my mother-in-law? We couldn't resist.

Eve Belle is kind of hard to resist, isn't she? Merry Christmas and happy holidays! The countdown to Christmas break stands at just four more workdays for me! Hip hip hooray!

The cutest thing you'll ever see...

My dog, Eve Belle? She's a mess. She's my little Diva. And I think she's the cutest dog ever, don't you?

I mean, really. She pouts when I'm about to leave her.

She sleeps in the ODDEST, most uncomfortable looking places.

She takes my spot on the pillow way too often.

She looks at you from the silliest angles.

And then, sometimes... she just lays in the funniest poses.

I mean, really. When's the last time you used the baseboard of your living room as a pillow?

So yeah, I don't really think it gets any cuter than this little pup! What's the silliest thing your dog does?

A few early mornings...

Today, for the third day in a row, I didn't roll over and slap at my alarm when it went off at 5:30.

Something strange happened instead. I smiled, and hopped out of bed.

The first day, I just knew I couldn't fall back asleep. An idea hatched, and I sat up and saw Eve Belle at the end of our bed. "Eve, you wanna walk?" I whispered climbing out of bed. Her ears twitched.

"Eve, you wanna walk?" I said a little louder. She popped up, tail wagging.

"Walk?" I said again. Boom, off like a shot, she ran to her leash and the door.

It was priceless, and we've repeated the pre- 6 a.m. walk for three mornings in a row. Little pup is so happy, and I've fallen in love with that extra hour I'm getting. We walk, I do a load of laundry or dishes, and take care of the garden. It's been perfect, and I'm hoping it's a new routine that becomes a habit, because I can't tell you how great that hour has been.

What kind of morning routine do you have? I love leaving for work, already having marked off half of my to do list for the day.

It's a good feeling.

Cara Box - April Reveal!

I was so excited that I actually remembered to sign up to take part in my very first Cara Box swap, hosted by Wifessionals! I absolutely love, love, love getting mail, and packages are even better, so when the theme was "Go Green!" I signed up and have loved every minute!

I got to send a box of fun to Claudia from Lashes and Beard (read her Cara Box post here)! I forgot to take a picture as I sent hers, so I borrowed the picture she took. :-)

I was so happy she liked everything!

My precious box of fun came from Leah at Life as a Payne (read her Cara Box post here!) She packed it in a super cute pink box, and it was so fun! Check it out!

A fun canvas reminder, reusable ice cubes, natural soap, a desperately needed water bottle, reusable sandwich bags, snack bars and lucky clover!!!

What was so sweet and touching was that she really took the time to get to know me. There were Disney stickers and the Disney font on everything!

But you know the way to make me truly grin is to spoil those I love most. And Leah sure did! My favorite part of my Cara Box is probably Eve Belle's favorite part too! Look at her FISHY! She now knows a new word, and is obsessed with her new friend. Seriously, she's already loved a hole in one fin. She won't leave Fishy alone. It's precious.

I had such a ball doing this for April, and can't wait to do it again in May! Mail is the best, so I hope you'll join in with us!

A normal morning...

This is what it looks like when we head to work on a winter morning.... with an extra (yep, pink) comforter on the bed. EB thinks it's her bed. No really, the entire queen size bed is hers.

Christmas Eve...

Get it? Christmas Eve.... Even if it is said "Eve-ah" when I talk about my Christmas puppy girl, it makes me smile. I know, I'm slightly dorky like that.

Anyways, I sprinkled a few little Christmas toys around for EB to kick off her holidays early, with a few more we gave her on Christmas. It's fun to give her 2-3 toys at Christmas, but I get some Christmas shaped ones and let her play with them for the month leading up to the holidays too. That way even the dog toys make it feel like it's Christmas. Anyone else do silly stuff like that?

I love this little furball so much! And today, three years ago, we hugged her for the first time, so I think it's a perfect day to blog about my little Diva Belle.

A little wet dog...

There's something about EB when she's dripping wet. She's so miserable and so tiny that it just makes it the cutest thing ever. Am I a bad puppy mom for stopping to photograph her latest bath in the midst of her misery? I hope not. And I hope you think she's just as cute as I do!

She says "Mama, make it STOP!" I love my darling girl. Ready for some relaxing and Christmas snuggles with her!

EB's Toy & Treat Swap Reveal

It seems like I'm always a day late right now, but here we go...

Can I just say that this swap idea was brilliant? (Thanks for sharing it with all of us, Cole!) When I set the package on the ground after it arrived, Eve Belle KNEW it was hers. She stood with her head on it, sniffed it, walked around it.... and then looked at me like "Mama, open it!"

It was kind of cute. She LOVED her package from Dominique and Freckles - it was jam-packed with fun, but she ran off with at least one toy before I could get a photo of it. Oh well. Here's what she's loving on right now!

EB has been having so much fun she just tuckered herself out!

EB turns three...

After we celebrated my birthday for a few days two week, it was time to celebrate the fluffiest member of our household! Eve Belle! (for new readers, it's pronounced Eve-ah Belle, lol)

We started the day with a very sleepy puppy. She really did not want to get out of bed! But that's fairly normal for her....

She got quite a few new toys and treats to fill her time with! We spaced new toys out over four or five days, and she got one new toy each day. A few are put up until some of the current ones die. She's not been killing them as much lately!

I had taken a trip to SteinMart, and found this puppy couch. I really, really wanted it,  but it was $60, and curved, which meant she wouldn't be able to sprawl on it. But all things considered? It was really cute! What would you have done?

I'm so grateful for our little fluff! She makes every day so much more fun! Here's to my little three year old!

But Mama said I was a princess...

Well, hello there.

It's me, Eve Belle. I'm Mrs. Jones' lil pup. She's my mama. And this week? She did the unthinkable. She turned me, her little princess, into an actual princess.

I know. What the heck was my mama thinking? I tried to make my displeasure known, but it was too tight to pull it off. But then she gave me a new toy. So I was cool with her photo op, I guess. It's a floppy, unstuffed zebra that squeaks. Total awesome-sauce.

It's a few weeks from mama's birthday, and my birthday is just a few days after that, so I'm beyond excited. I heard mama and daddy whispering the other night when they thought I was asleep. I'm getting presents. Score.

Do you remember my birthday cake last year? I wonder if I get a cake again this year...

Time to go scatter my toys around and make a mess. Have a good night everyone!
