Holiday shopping tips...

{via}

We all know I love to save a little money while I shop, right? Because really, I love to shop. More than I should. More than I can afford to. So I clip a few coupons and use a few fabulous sites and get a lot more for my money that way.

Since it is the season to shop (word!) I wanted to share my favorite ways to save today!

Ebates
You can sign up for Ebates here to start getting cash back on almost all of your online purchases! I just got a check back for $11 from not much shopping at all. I love free money...

Retail Me Not
This site lets you search by store and find coupons and deals you can use!

Rue La La
A great site to get fabulous gifts (for you or others!) at a pretty good discount usually. I've gotten Brookstone, Lilly Pulitzer and Vera Bradley on the site before! You can sign up for an account here.

Hope these help as we all gear up for some holiday shopping! Tis the season, right?

Fall Finds: Few and Far Between...

Shopping for late fall is kind of my favorite. I love the rich colors, the comfy and cozy looks... but I haven't actually purchased many of my finds this year. Either the price is wrong, or I need something else more that week.... it's always something it seems like.

I snagged two fabulous items from Target fairly early on, and that's been about it, but I'm back on the hunt. I'm really ready for a little Christmas music and decor, but I need a few work outfits first.

Target finds:

What are you searching for this fall season? Any favorites I need to check out?

Faking a little spa time...

The spa? It's fun, but a little expensive - and sometimes, I just don't have that many hours in my day.

Lately, I've fallen in love with a couple of things that let me fake that spa feeling when I've got a night at home. Wandering the beauty and makeup aisles of Target a couple of months ago, I stumped upon these Que Bella packets.

Que Bella has a whole line of single-use facial masks in our Target beauty aisles, and I've tried about five of them now. I've sent them as little surprises in the mail to friends, and I've got them in my favorite things giveaway that's going on right now too.

I love the detoxifying dead sea mud mask and the purifying tea tree and witch hazel masks the most so far, but there are still a few that I haven't tried - and it appears there are even more online at the company's website. I'm going to have to follow up on that.

For anywhere from $1.97 to $2.50 each, these are just the perfect way to relax and do something fun for yourself during a night in! You really can't beat that price in my book! Check them out and let me know which one you love if you're looking for something fun like this....

On another note, my last Sephora order contained the BEST skin care sample I have ever received. I have fallen in love, and will be buying this product in the next month.

Korres Greek Yogurt
Advanced Nourishing Sleeping Facial

I mean, honestly, doesn't that just sound amazing? Well, I used that sample two nights in a row, because it was a fairly large one. It was blissful. I loved it. Not necessarily something I need every night, but a few nights a week would be so fabulous. It's definitely a little pricier, at $45 for 1.35 ounces on Sephora's site, but it'll be my skincare treat for the fall.

Since I saved so much money on my at-home spa nights I can do that, right?

A perfect scent...

You know how sometimes, you realize you're growing up, and you don't like it in general. But you like it in actual life? Yeah, that's where I've been lately.

I've worn two Vera Wang perfumes over the past five years, and I loved them to death. But my bottle of Princess ran out. And I'm down to a quarter bottle of Bouquet.

And it was just time to experiment with something a little different. So when I hit up Nordstrom Rack in Los Angeles in April, I fell in LOVE with Burberry Brit.

I've been alternating which fragrance I wear, and I'm not sure I'll wear this forever, but it's a little more classic and timeless for me, so I'm excited about it.

What fragrance do you wear? What's important to you in one? I'm curious - what else should I check out?

Oh, Atlanta....

Since you've all gotten to read about the Ikea part of my Atlanta shopping trip, it's time to tell you about the rest of my awesome shopping time over there!

While it started at Ikea with the bookcase and some other fun items, it also included a trip to the Atlanta Mart, where I stocked up on jewelry for the summer!

The browsing with a friend was oh-so-fun. And so was the ton of hats we giggled at along the way. Made me wish we were in England!

Here's my earring loot:

So far, I've worn the red and navy blue earrings - and the gold ones. Best part? Each pair cost between $4 and $9. I can't wait to wear the rest! Back soon to tell you about my awesome dinner with friends!

A litte Ikea love...

I've made my first furniture purchase since we bought our house almost three years ago, and it was so much fun. I headed East to Atlanta for a quick day and a half of shopping, dinner with two fabulous friends - and my FIRST ever trip to Ikea!

I was on a mission, but as always, I picked up a few extra things along the way.

After seeing a beautiful spread in Better Homes and Gardens a few months ago, I fell in love with the Ikea Expedit Shelving and thought it would be perfect in our living room to replace a tall skinny bookcase on a large wall. I believe I thought correctly.

I loved the color, loved the size, and loved the price. Perfect, right? Well, it sure was after my dear husband put it together for me!

Here's the almost-final product. It's a little more decorated now, and I like how it's coming along.

I love the way it fills the space. It was very needed!

What do you think? I'm proud of our new (well, not new, but updated) living room look!

XOXO,
Mrs. Jones

PS) As far as my other favorite Ikea find? These chocolate bars. I'm looking at you, hazelnut!

An emerald view...

I'm a design dork in the "real world" and love fonts, colors and all types of writing. I got excited when Pantone realized the 2013 color of the year, emerald. And then to make it even more fun, Sephora and Pantone realized a cool color collection featuring the color of the year!

I'm loving these fun items! Do you like this collaboration between Sephora and Pantone?

Stella & Dot... Beautiful baubles!

Today's the day! I'm so excited to see Lauren and have some friends over to play with some fabulous jewelry. I know I've already shared my favorite necklaces, but my real love is earrings. They are the perfect way to dress up ANY regular old outfit.

My short bobbed hair hides most earrings, so as long as they are light, I got for LARGE earrings so you can see them. Does anyone else have that problem? I'm curious as to what you do? Do you do the same thing?

Anyways, if you're looking for some Stella & Dot, you can check things out and shop here.

Which ones are your favorite? I'm loving the Seychelles right now, but I love the other three too! Choices, choices! What's a girl to do?!?

Stella & Dot.... Favorite necklaces!

I'm SO excited about Sunday!

One of my dear IRL friends - who I've kept up with in our little virtual world for the past few years - is coming over tomorrow to do a Stella & Dot trunk show at my house. I'm so excited, and that's led me to be online, scouting things out!

I wanted to share my favorite necklaces today!

I love this for its simplicity. I think I could wear it everyday!

I need versatile items in my jewelry wardrobe right  now. Things that I can wear long, or short, etc. And this fits the bill perfectly!!! I love it's elegance too.

What are your favorite Stella & Dot items? If you're looking around right now, feel free to shop my trunk show here! Lauren is amazing, and will take great care of you!

And, a side note from Lauren. If you place an order through this show, you'll be entered to WIN a free S&D item as well! If you order two items, you'll be entered twice, and so on and so forth. (Who doesn't like winning free stuff, right?!)

Happy Friday and XOXO,

Neiman Marcus & Target fun...

How many of y'all hit up the Neiman Marcus & Target collection on Dec. 1? I did, but as much as I loved the collection, and enjoyed my Saturday morning jaunt, I only made two purchases.

The setup was very cool. They actually kept the whole collection together, and it's moved around locations at our Target a few times.

I loved these two clothing items, but the price tags were just too steep!

My lone purchases were two of the the Tory Burch lunch boxes. One for me, and one for my sister's Christmas gift. They're just so cute and useful! I debated a bit about the matching thermos, but I always carry a Tervis tumbler, so I passed on this one.

What did you check out? Did you think the prices were still a little high for the quality of items? It was really cool to have designer items a little more readily available, but $50 for three Christmas ornaments - no matter how beautiful - is still a little out of my price range.

A sign of aging...

So... I took  a day to run errands and hit some stores about 45 minutes away from us. And that's when I realized, I'm getting old.

I may just be 27, but really? When my favorite - and most anticipated - purchase of the day was a four pack of Williams-Sonoma dish towels for $19.95? Yep, I think I've reached that point.

They are pretty. And soft. And so much nicer than the Target towels I've been using for four years... If I've got to cook and clean, I might as well love my tools right? That's what I'm telling myself for now anyways. Because I'm not ready to admit that I'm getting old.

XOXO,
Mrs. Jones

PS) I still want more towels.

Show and tell...

I got the iPhone 5 the day it came out. I may have had to wake up at 4 a.m. to go get it.  But it was my birthday present from the husband I love it lots already.

My favorite new feature is the panoramic photos. I snapped this one from the field at the last Alabama football game and it just makes me smile.

Any other iPhone upgrades out there? Or new apps I need to know about?

Fill me in people!

Mrs. Jones

A little more Lilly in my life...

I have exactly three items of Lilly Pulitzer. Three. And none of them are clothing or wearable accessories. I have an umbrella (love), a koozie, and a note pad. They're awesome and they make me smile.

But I've been dreaming of more. Specifically? Of Lilly Pulitzer McKims. For quite a while.

Well, last week, I managed to make the semi-annual massive online Lilly sale work for me, and I got two pairs of McKims.

I debated. Flats, wedges or high wedges. I hemmed. I hawwed. I contemplated color selection.
I stared at the screen A LOT.

And finally, I decided. And Saturday, they arrived. I'm in love.

Not bad for $98, right? Perfect pre-birthday splurge, and I've already worn them both. Twice. :-) Did anyone else hit up the Lilly sale? There were a ton of technical problems, but by the first night, my order had gotten through, and I'm grateful.

I'm happy, and officially a Lilly girl. Here we go!

Mrs. Jones

A favorite OOTD post...

I'm not a big OOTD poster, but I snagged a few pics of an outfit I put together and just LOVED this week!

I found this Calvin Klein dress at TJ Maxx and that got me through Bid Day for my sorority. I only had my iPhone, since it was just me that morning, but you get the picture! The dress itself was a steal! It's currently selling for $128 at Belk, but I found it for $50 at TJ Maxx. I'll take that price any day.

I also loved that it's different from anything I already have. I don't have tons of bright printed dresses, and I had found a cardigan at LOFT a while ago that matched perfectly!

The shoes made me laugh. I have had these Miss Trish for Target wedges for over a year, and had yet to cut the tags off and wear them. I was always afraid I'd never make it through the day in them, but they were amazingly comfortable! My feet did not hurt at all at the end of the day.

So that is it for my favorite outfit of the week! What do y'all think?

Mrs. Jones

My Style Monday...

It's the middle of summer. It's hot. It's humid. It's so hard to be both professional and comfortable even in a business casual workplace right now. Does anybody feel my pain?

I  can't just shop til I drop for some fab new outfits, but I can hit up the clearance racks and jazz things up with jewelry to try to survive the scorching summer months. And that's what I've been making an effort to do.

I almost find myself being too casual when I get miserably hot, so I've been making an effort to combat that tendency and look a little nicer than normal!

Cue my $12 dress from Old Navy with great wedges and a cardigan! This dress, already such a steal, also gave me a red and blue dress for our Olympics party and a nautical base for an upcoming bachelorette party. It doesn't get much better than a dress that can do triple duty!

I'm a dress girl, that's for sure. When I saw this Xhileration beauty for just $15 at Target, I couldn't resist it. It's perfect for the beach, and my black shrug cardigan and black flats make it perfect for the office too. What do you think?

My favorite find has been a short sleeved teal cardigan from Loft (marked down from $40 to $18 I believe!), and my new necklace from Baublebar to dress up an old black dress!

I'll take some more pictures of my jewelry use this week, but that has been such an easy way for me to doll any old outfit up. What are your go to outfits and tricks for professional looks in the summer? I'm game for any advice!

XOXO,
Mrs. Jones
