Reunited for a weekend….

A few weekends ago, a dear friend from blog and Twitter land came to Tuscaloosa for her first visit. We had an absolute ball, and had an epic Alabama football weekend together!

It had been such a long time since I got to show off this city I love so much, so Tami was the beneficiary of some seriously over-eager hosts. Oops. She indulged us though, so it was perfect.

We had the best time ever, and I can't wait to do it again. A weekend of giggles, a few signature game day cocktails, and lots of girl talk. It truly doesn't get much better. So grateful for this sweet lady and all the fun times to come….

Fall in Tuscaloosa...

There's nothing like fall in Tuscaloosa.

Football season. Friends. Family. Lot's of time on-the-go or playing host to visitors. It's not dull, that's for sure. The fun times running around with family are probably my favorite. You just don't get enough of it it seems like!

But all the time on the go? Totally makes me appreciate a lazy weekend like we just had. I didn't even leave the house once this past weekend. Not even for Starbucks.

I can't believe we have seen that many seasons come and go together! Roll Tide, right?

This town, and its campus are just stunning. Nothing like walking by this on a beautiful weekend.

One day I even got to hang out with Big Al on the field at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

He was hilarious. Something about mascots makes me feel like a little kid still!

And of course, EB has to get in on a little of the fun. Sometimes she survives for 10 minutes while I dress her up in gameday attire for a picture. But she's usually not as happy as this, so you can imagine how that goes!

Roll Tide, y'all...

Well, the football gods have smiled on us again.

I can't believe Alabama is headed back to the national championship game. It's unreal. We had a ball at the Auburn game, and threw a mini party to watch the Tide roll in the SEC Championship game. It was fun.

A little celebration...

Well hello there! It's been way too long and I'm so glad to be catching up on here! In addition to kicking off my first week at the new job this week, I ran into some technical difficulties when my storage on Blogger ran out! That's been remedied (for free, thanks to Photobucket, wahoo!)

So, to pick up where our story left off, I had a wonderful date night with my husband to celebrate my new job the day I accepted it! It was so much fun to have a good glass of wine, sit down and enjoy the moment.

The celebration continued with some Alabama football, and a beautiful day outside. :-)

There has been so much to celebrate, and I'm grateful for the time we've gotten to enjoy together lately! Back soon with lots more!

Moments in the sun...

At the Alabama vs. Florida Atlantic game last week, I enjoyed the game, and cheered on the Tide. But halftime was the main event for us. It was incredible to stand there at the edge of the field, in front of 100,000 people, and watch my sister be honored with her team for winning a national championship. Those women deserved every cheer they got - and it was loud. It was an amazing thing to see.

When you look at moments, and freeze them in time.... I think these are the moments life is made of. This is what you remember. The hugs, the smiles, the tears... and thank heavens for the photos.

She got some beautiful bling, didn't she? I'm so proud of her. And I love the pictures of the two of us!

Roll Tide! A College Football Colors Link-Up...

Happy college football season everyone!

Can you believe it's finally here? Tonight, college football kicks off the 2012 season. I'm so excited. I can't wait for Saturday to watch the Alabama vs. Michigan game on tv! I wish I'd be in Dallas/Arlington to see it, but since that's not possible, I'll be cooking it up and tailgating in my living room!

I just wanted to host a fun linkup today to give everyone a chance to share their favorite college football team (or pro, we don't discriminate!) and photos today as we kick off another wonderful year!

My husband and I are both Alabama graduates, and we love to cheer the Crimson Tide on at all of the home games - and usually the bowl game! We have been blessed to travel to Pasadena in 2009 and New Orleans in 2011 to cheer Alabama on to national championships, and they were amazing experiences. Here's hoping 2012 has another wonderful journey to a national title in store for us!

These are some of my favorite pictures we have at football games. I think they are both from the 2010 season. The one of the right is in Orlando at the Capital One Bowl.

We have even turned the sweet pup into a Bama fan. She thinks cheers of "Mark Ingram" (yeah, it's a few years out of date, but whatever) mean she is getting a treat during away games when we are watching at home. And she has her very own houndstooth coat. This year she might be getting a crimson and white tutu. Cross your fingers on that DIY project!

Another fall is officially upon us! College football kicks off Thursday night.

I won't be heading to Dallas to kick off the season watching my beloved Alabama take on Michigan, but I'll be cooking, tailgating in my living room and enjoying the start to another great year.

All this brings me to say, I'm going to host a link-up on Friday! No logo, no fancy stuff. But I'm going to blog about my favorite football team and share my favorite game day pictures from last season. I hope you'll join me.

A Picture Perfect Night...

It was a beautiful Monday night... The ride and walk into the Superdome was a stunning one as they sky darkened. The excitement and tension was everywhere, emotions were high, and hopes were up.

We had a wonderful time at the official pre-game party, which I was beyond impressed with! There was face painting for all, team-themed King Cakes, bands, cheerleaders, food and free drinks! It doesn't get much better than that now, does it?

After the party, we made our way to our seats with about 20 minutes to spare. The pre-game show was great, and we were bouncing off the walls with anticipation. I'm so grateful that we got to be there. For the 2009 championship, we celebrated our one year anniversary a few weeks late with a trip to Pasadena, and it felt a little bit like deja vu (minus the plane flight) in New Orleans. We are lucky, lucky, lucky.

My sister loved this poster, and I had to snap this picture! She's a beautiful girl and we were so excited she got to make the trip with us. It's the first time we had really travelled together as adults!

The game.... oh, I don't know that there are even words. It was beautiful. It was fun. The entire game felt like a celebration. Our team, our city and our state have been to hell and back since April 27, and the joy we felt as the clock ran down? It was a sight to behold. I'm proud to be a Bama girl!

We had to force ourselves to head out to Bourbon Street for at least one drink afterwards! We were tired, hot and sleepy, but it was worth it! There were hardly any LSU fans to be found as the Crimson Tide took over Bourbon Street!

Wishful Wednesday: An Excuse to Shop...

It's not like I really need an excuse to shop. I'm pretty good with the budget and get to have some fun when I want to. But if ever there was a reason to shop? It's winning another national championship. I've picked my favorites for each of us, and then, of course, we must add to our Tervis tumbler collection!

Christmas came a little early....

Last night brought a little early celebration for Alabama fans! I am so excited to head down to New Orleans on Jan. 9 for the BCS National Championship game! It's going to be a wonderful long weekend. I haven't been to New Orleans since the weekend before Mr. Jones proposed in January 2008. So, this is going to be super special!

Almost the minute everything was announced, the emails started flowing..... I think it's going to be time for me to buy a Trent Richardson jersey!!!

I know all of you sweet readers are not necessarily Alabama fans, but I'm excited. We've got a hotel room for three nights and game tickets, so I'm feeling very lucky to be able to witness another historic weekend for Alabama football!

Fall winds down...

It's late November and fall is winding down, which means football season is almost at an end. The LSU game (and loss) was not a fun one to endure, but Bama bounced back with wins at Miss. State and at home against Georgia Southern.

I even got to meet the Georgia Southern eagle - his handler walked right by my aisle seat!

He was very pretty! I loved my pictures too. Yay for iPhones, right? Photos anytime.

Mr. Jones and I won't be making the trip down to the Plains to cheer on Alabama at Auburn this year due to family and holiday fun. But, I'll be cheering my heart out from home - and after the crazy football world weekend we had this weekend, who knows what our national title hopes might look like come next week!

I'm all for a rematch between the Crimson Tide and LSU in New Orleans - but then again, I'm for anything that gets Alabama to the national title game! :-)

Dixie's football pride...

Tomorrow is big.

It's Nov. 5, but it may as well be a national title game.

The anticipation has been nuts. The atmosphere in Tuscaloosa cannot be topped. I'm crossing my fingers and saying some prayers that the same will be said for our lovely Crimson Tide.

I can't wait to cheer my team on with 101,000 of my closest friends! Let's hope I'm celebrating for the next few weeks. I'd be so excited to return to Atlanta, and hopefully make the trip down to New Orleans for the BCS National Championship in January.

It's more than football...

Sometime today, I'm going to sit down and write for tomorrow. Oct. 27 will mark six months since the tornado hit Tuscaloosa. I have a lot to say. But one of those is that right now, so many hopes and dreams  are tied to the Alabama football team.

I am and always have been a die-hard Bama girl. But think that given all that has happened, this year's team is a special one, and they are fighting for more than just a win each week.

Yea Alabama...

Our Saturday was a wonderful one, spent watching the Tide roll over Arkansas! After a couple of low-key home games, it was so much fun to hear Bryant-Denny Stadium rocking for a big SEC game! Alabama did not disappoint! Trick plays, domination, fun - it was all there! Mr. Jones and I even matched (look in the bottom of the pic at his pants!)

I even dressed sweet little EB up for a bit while we were at home. She was not a fan, but Mr. Jones snagged a picture of us!

Next week, I'll be cheering on Alabama (@ Florida) on from afar without Mr. Jones, because I'm heading to NASHVILLE for a blogging meet-up with some of my favorite girls! It's going to be a great week!
