The 2014 Directive: January

Kate & Trudy The 2014 Directive

When Jessica from the blog Kate and Trudy said that she was going to kick off the year by creating a movement towards achieving greatness in 2014. I loved it, and decided I wanted to jump on the bandwagon! You can read more about The 2014 Directive plan here.

My very first directive of the year is to jump start my healthy habits. I want to lose 10 pounds this month. However, I don't want to start out with a number of pounds to lose. I want to start with kicking up my healthy habits.

I just got a Fit Bit One, and I am so excited about it. So I thought that since I have a great way of measuring what I am doing, I'm going to start out with a simple plan.

My January directive is going to be simple.
I want to hit my Fit Bit goals in these areas every day for the entire month:
- Take 10,000 steps
- Walk 5 miles
- Drink 64 ounces of water

I think these are small, easily measured goals each day, and it will be a great habit to kick off my year. Here's to staying accountable and making progress to start off my year!

August: The To Do List

Happy August everyone!

Can you believe we're gearing up for fall? I know it doesn't feel like it here in Alabama with all the heat and such, but we're getting there, slowly but surely!

With another month here, I wanted to do something a little new. I love what Carolyn does on her blog. Monthly to do lists, where she checks in on last month's progress. So this month, I'm going to give it a try. I'm going to post my goals and big to do items, and see how far I get!

Goals:
- Kill the clutter. Donate or get rid of things that really don't need to be in our house.
- Work out three days a week, for at least 45 minutes.
- Spend some time at the pool. (Sad that this has to be a goal, but I want to find some enjoyment at the pool before the season is over and I've missed out on it!)
- Stay organized. Keep my planner up to date, and don't let projects and deadlines sneak up on me.

To do:
- Figure out how I want the guest room and office set up before football season arrives.
- Complete scrapbook pages for a BFF's birthday gift.
- Make my birthday wish list.
- Start planning the Christmas present list. (Yes, I start this early!)

I know I'm forgetting things, but we'll start small for this month and see how I do!

Have a wonderful rest of the week lovelies!
