Mani Monday: Julep's Michelle

I finally got back on the wagon with trying to take care of my nails. It had been a little too long, and they were looking a little too ragged, so I pulled out a fun new color from one of my latest Julep Maven boxes!

I just got my December box yesterday, so I'll have to share that soon. I even got their new color caddy to keep all my colors in, because I've accumulated quite a lot…. Oops.

If you're looking for a great deal and fun beauty products in the mail, check it out here!

{Disclaimer: I am sharing affiliate links. If you get a box, I totally get points to get free stuff…. and that's kind of fun and awesome. If you join, you get your own link to share too. So, just FYI!}

The Nail Files: Julep's Darla

It's been a week y'all. And my nails and cuticles may have been shredded due to stress, but I had an event last night that required nails, hair and a nice dress, so I slapped this on before I walked out the door. It'll do for a few days. Love how it looked with my black dress too!

Happy Friday to all - here's to the WEEKEND! It's going to be a good one...

Nail Files: Julep's Millie

It may not quite feel like fall yet in Alabama, but I'm pulling out the fall-type items that I can in my beauty routine and wardrobe. So far I'm having more luck with nail color than anything else....

This week I wore Julep's Millie, and I got lots of compliments on it.

I paired it with OPI's top coat, and Julep quick dry drops to wrap things up. It's lasted about 5 days so far, which is longer than normal for me!

A sneak peak at Julep Maven...

The Julep Maven window is open for September, and I fell so in love with this CityScape collection that I had to share! How gorgeous are the colors (aside from the orange, which this Bama fan can never love.)

I had a really hard time picking my box for the month, and went away from my normal "Classic with a Twist" to sign up for the "Bombshell" box. I used some of my Maven rewards to add on the beautiful Josephine color for free.

You can sign up via my referral link here and use the code FREEBOX to get your first box for free! I love this box more than any other because you can change, skip or gift your box each month! It doesn't get much better than that!

Are you a Julep Maven? Do you like what I picked for this month?

Nail Files: "I Eat Mainely Lobster" Gel Mani

Well y'all, I broke down and finally got a real manicure for the first time in months. It was heavenly, and I went with an OPI Gel Color.

This is me and my mani for the upcoming week or two, featuring "I Eat Mainely Lobster" and I'm totally in love with it!

I still need to blog about what I've been up to, but let's just say that this manicure was the reward for meeting a goal, and I enjoyed every minute of it!

Happy Friday, and don't forget to enter my "Favorite Things" giveaway here!

The Nail Files: Broadway Nails imPRESS Press-on Manicure

Okay, I couldn't wait until Friday to post this, but I'll still be linking it up with The Nail Files on Friday!

I got to try Broadway Nails imPRESS Press-on Manicure from my Influenster Vox Box!

These were definitely new for me. I'd never tried press on manicures before, and I wasn't sure what to expect. They were so easy to apply, that's totally a plus for me!

The only thing I didn't like was that they were flimsier than I'd like. I have weak nails, so I would have liked for them to be sturdier feeling. But I do just love how they photographed.... yay for instagram!

I'd love to try an imPRESS Press-on Manicure in a plain color like on their website here.

Happy end-of-Monday,
Mrs. Jones

Disclaimer: I was provided with this product by Broadway Nails and Influenster, but all opinions are my own!

The Nail Files: Essie's Sunday Funday

It's Tara and Vicki's last time hosting The Nail Files, but I'm grateful Jennie is keeping it going. So, thanks ladies, and I've enjoyed it so far!

This week, I've been rocking a fun Essie color called Sunday Funday. It's bright, and looks a little less orange in person than it does in pictures. Kind of a light tangerine if you will. I'm loving it - and its name!

I topped it with my Julep Freedom Polymer top coat, which I love!
Here's to a wonderful Friday!

Nail Files Friday: Sephora by OPI's Beauty Junkie

I've been doing so many fun and bright colors on my nails, that this week, I switched things up a little bit and went darker. For a few days, it'll be fun and a little understated at the office.

I literally opened my huge makeup bag full of polish and pulled this one out. "Looks good" I thought, and away we went.

This is Sephora by OPI's Beauty Junkie, which I think I picked up about four years ago in NYC on a family trip. Polish is still holding up great, that's for sure!

What look are you sporting this week? Happy Nail Files Friday everyone!

Mrs. Jones

The Nail Files: Julep's Helen

I finally painted my poor nails again, so I'm linking up this week! YAY! In preparation for a friend's wedding, I pulled out one of my favorite neutral Julep polishes!

Just ignore my poor, beat up cuticles, ok? Enjoy the pretty color instead. I think it will look nice with my dresses for the weekend, and I need to slap a little of this color on my toes later tonight too. What have you been painting your nails with lately? I need to check out some new colors!

XOXO,
Mrs. Jones

In case you haven't joined in the Julep craze, check it out here! This subscription box is one of my favorite mail items each month for sure.

The Nail Files: OPI's Oz

I have (finally) gotten back in the habit of keeping my nails looking nice and painted each week!

I had a little fun in Ulta the other day, and checked out OPI's Oz collection. This liquid sand polish, What Wizardry Is This?, came home with me. It felt funny compared to normal polish, because it really felt like sand or sandpaper when it dried - it wasn't completely smooth, even after a few topcoats. I may have to put an acrylic topcoat on it next time, because that was a little annoying, but I loved the look!

What do you think? Are you a fan of OPI's liquid sand or Oz collections?

Mrs. Jones

January Julep...

After passing on the last two months of my Julep Maven box, I am SOOOO excited to get back in the swing this month with the January box. The "neon and nude" collection is gorgeous.

See?

Photobucket

Isn't it gorgeous? Anyways, I know I've shared before, but if you are interested, you can click here and enter the code MAVENINTRO to get your first box for only ONE CENT! Love it.

Photobucket

This will be my "classic with a twist" box. I love both colors, and I'm so excited to wear them - and the hand and cuticle stick should be amazing. I'm ready for it to arrive!

Photobucket

I even hit up the year-end sale. I didn't get the suede collection when it debuted, so I snagged these three colors (and a scarf!) for just $16 total. I can't wait for it to come. I think these are great mid-winter colors. One more day of deep-ceaning on the house, and then it's BACK to manicured nails for me!

What are you wearing? Are you a Julep Maven? Tell me more!

The Nail Files: Think Pink

Since I did my pink giveaway last week, I thought I'd get in on the theme this week with my nails as well! Time for a little breast cancer awareness at the tip of my fingers all day! LOL. Yes, sorry, I know that's dorky, but it made me happy!

What do you think?

I'm a little sad my favorite month of the year is almost over, but oh well... Happy Friday y'all!

The Nail Files: Zoya's Irene

It's hard to believe another week is here and I'm so "with it" for once that I'm posting my third straight Nail Files post! That's impressive for me, you guys. Anyways, here is this week's manicure attempt - Zoya's Irene!

I thought this was pretty cool. It's very much an Army-green color, but with shimmer! What do you think? I thought it was fun, but I chipped it so easily after I did my nails! I did like the pictures using my favorite Old Navy scarf as the background for it. :-)

Happy Friday, y'all,

Mrs. Jones

The Nail Files: Bama Style

Confession. I kind of can't believe I'm posting these pictures now that I've seen them, but I did rock this look earlier this week to show a little Bama football love! My painting skills were definitely a little messy, but the houndstooth showed up pretty well!

What do you think? Do y'all do the accent nail thing? I thought my trick of using two strips of Sally Hansen Salon Effects instead of all ten at once will help me make the $10 pack last longer! And it's a little less busy, which I like!

An Essie Perk...

It's no secret I have a nail polish obsession.... and Klout and Essie just furthered that obsession a few weeks ago. I snagged a "perk" thanks to my level of influence, and got sent a bottle of nail polish from Essie's fall collection!

Left to right: Stylenomics, Don't Sweater It, Head Mistress, Recessionista,
Skirting The Issue and Miss Fancy Pants

My favorite name is "Recessionista" but "Skirting The Issue" is probably my favorite color from the above pictures, but it is actually the color I got... and it does look a lot different than the photo!

I still like it, but usually prefer pinker colors.... What do you think?

Mrs. Jones

The Nail Files: Zoya's Neeka

It's finally Friday! Woohoo! Plus, that means there's just another chance I get to link up with Vicki and and Tara for the Nail Files on Friday!

I don't know about all of you, but I adore the weekends. They have been busy lately, but worth it. This Friday, I'm loving Zoya's Neeka. I thought this was a super fun polish (so fun, I bought another bottle for a swap partner!)

I think paired with a black accent nail or black shatter, this could be a super fun color for Halloween later on. Thoughts?

Happy Friday everyone!

XOXO,
Mrs. Jones

The Nail Files: A designer Julep for me...

For this week's Nail Files, I'm linking up and sharing my September Julep Maven box and mani!

This month's Julep Maven box was a little different. They went designer on us. Trina Turk took over the monthly Julep collection, and it was a beautiful one. I went with my traditional box, Classic with a Twist, this month. I wasn't disappointed.

I'm such a fan of how it looks on! What do you think? The box was packaged so cute too!

I really liked how my manicure matched the dress (see above) I had on the day I did it. Very fun!

They had an add-on option to buy the whole Trina Turk nail wardrobe for an extra $30, but I skipped that. I'm already regretting it, but it was the smart decision at the time. Aren't the colors all beautiful?!?

Happy Friday and hope you enjoyed my Nail Files post!

If you are interested in Julep polish, you can become a Julep Maven and get a box delivered to you each month! Go here to sign up, and you can use a code (try COLOR2012 or PENNY) to get your first box for just a penny! I love these because if you don't like a month, you can skip it or gift it! So much to choose from!

XOXO,
Mrs. Jones
