Cruising to Christmas: Part 4

Ah, this time last week we were wrapping up our final day on the cruise ship! I miss it, but I'm so very glad to be home for the holidays!

I started Friday morning at the Carnival Spa!!!

Then I hit up the omelette bar - one of my favorite foods on the ship by the way!

I also fell in love with grapefruit on this ship. I loved it!

Then Ash and I curled up on the Serenity patio and enjoyed the view and the sun for most of the day!

We also enjoyed a few little umbrella drinks, as cruisers love to do...

There also may have been some, um, glamour shots involved....

Oh yes, we did.

I'm ready for another cruise and I've only been home for a week. That doesn't bode well, but thanks for recapping my trip with me! I'm always grateful for time at home after a little fun, aren't you?

XOXO and Merry Christmas,
Mrs. Jones

Cruising to Christmas: Part 3

These are a few of my favorite things.... Especially since it is warm (70s) but raining and gross here in Alabama. Not cool. Don't tempt me with warm weather following a vacation only to make it yucky. Not fun at all. So, I'm still reliving all my fun days from last week!

Docked in Progresso, Mexico....

Serenity - the adults-only section, where we spent ALL of our time!
Hot tubs and cushy deck chairs? Yes, please!

Woohoo! Free drinks! I had a ball, and some of my dinner partners were there as well... Mr. Jones and I had taken a Carnival cruise together in April 2010.

How many of you have taken cruises? This was my fourth, including family cruises on the Big Red Boat (ages ago) and the Disney Cruise Line (I was 13) and a Royal Caribbean cruise in college. Mr. Jones and I took one before I got my first job. So, apparently that made this my fifth cruise. I can sure count well. Haha!

Tell me about your cruises!!! What should we do next?

XOXO,
Mrs. Jones

Cruising to Christmas: Part 2

There was some serious fun on our ship! We spent almost all of our time laying in the sun on the "adults only" deck, reading, having a bellini or two and sleeping.

I loved the nights on the boat - sushi before dinner, beautiful lights.... It was heavenly!

I spent most of the week anticipating my date at the spa on Friday morning. I saw the flyer above when we boarded the ship and Mr. Jones said that could be one of my Christmas presents. I hadn't had a massage in a year or two, and I'd never had a facial. (Mmmm heaven.)

The dinners on the ship are heavenly. I love looking nice, having a fun dinner and just enjoying everything! Our elegant night (haha) dinner was escargot, lobster and chocolate melting cake for me! DELISH.

That's all for now...

XOXO,
Mrs. Jones

Cruising to Christmas: Part 1

Last week was awesome. It does not get much better than a pre-Christmas vacation down to Mexico with one of your best friends. We started last Monday and drove down to New Orleans to catch our ship. No trip through NOLA is complete without some fabulous food, so we hit up Daisy Duke's to start things off! I got the shrimp po boy and it was fabulous.

Yeah, I dominated that - minus some of the bread. It was delicious. We headed on down to the port and got on our ship, the Carnival Elation! That first drink never tasted so good. While it was chilly all that afternoon while the ship loaded and we started off, it was heavenly all the same!

Me and Ash ready for a fun week....

That's day one! I'd give anything to head back down there. Oh the sun....

XOXO,
Mrs. Jones

It's been a long, long time....

Yeah,, so the title of this blog is totally stolen from a fabulous FFH song that I have playing in my head this morning. I have blogged quite a bit lately, but I haven't really written, if you know what I mean.

Life is good. I'm happy. I love my husband and I love my sweet puppy dog. The condo is fairly clean. I've pulled out my spring and summer clothes in hopes that this beautiful weather will stay. And now I'm praying for some warm sunny days so I can begin to get my legs to NOT be ghostly white. I'm always pale. But this is ridiculous.

This upcoming week is going to be a big one for me. I'm supposed to turn in my COMPLETED first three chapters of my thesis (aka my proposal) to my committee by Friday. I've got an outline for my methods done, but I have to write it up. My survey is complete. But my lit review is a mess. I've got to rework the entire thing. My goal is to have that done by Monday so my chair can look at it and I can revise before everyone else sees it.

Thing is, I'm leaving town Thursday afternoon. (We are going to see my in-laws at their new house in Georgia!!! We haven't seen them since Christmas and I am so very, very, very excited to have a wonderful weekend relaxing and spending time with them!)

But all that means, I need to finish all revisions by Thursday at noon. YIKES! I'm scared. It's crunch time and I still feel so far from where I need to be. I feel like the next two to three months (and what happens then, timeline wise) is dependent on this single week. Scary, huh?

So, I could totally use some of your fabulous prayers and encouragement.

I also have to return to my GA job this week after a fabulously dull and fairly relaxing spring break this past week. I cleaned. I played with Eve Belle. I watched tv. I cooked. It was nice.

We've got so much coming up after this. Our cruise is in just about a month. I can't wait. I've got some shopping, working out, and packing to do for it! I will blog later today (after I get at least a few pages of revisions done) about all the fun things I've found lately - and the latest giveaway that I won, because my beautiful prize came in yesterday!)

Much love to all of you! Happy Saturday,
XOXO,
Mrs. Jones

PS) Giveaway winners - I PROMISE I will mail your games on Monday. I'll admit, I was too lazy this week. Please forgive me? :-)
