Back in the swing...

Well hello there.

So, yep, I only wrote four times in the month of February. And despite February being a short month, that's kind of sad.

I miss writing. I miss blogging. I miss the fun connections and plans that this place helps me create and keep.

February kicked my butt. We are three days into March, and I'm determined to get a grip. I need to take control of my time and my life again. And set a few priorities.

Who has been there? Any tips? I feel like it's a daily struggle sometimes. But I will get it right, and soon.

About the only thing I made time for in February was travel (one work trip and one vacation with my darling husband) and reading (like, 10-12 books worth). So there was some good, but the time in between was sorely lacking in balance.

Sunday morning thoughts...

Happy Sunday morning, y'all….

I've got a lot of posts in the works, but it's a quiet morning at our house so far, and I'm enjoying coffee and listening to the laundry and dishes get clean.

It felt like the perfect time to actually sit down and write a little bit, so here I am. My sweet husband and  pup are curled up under the covers still asleep. They are definitely enjoying Daylight Savings Time already. Watching the two of them early in the morning is definitely one of the cutest things ever, that's for sure. And I totally envy how easy it is for both of them to roll over and go back to sleep whenever they want. I do not have that as a skill, sadly.

I'm ready for the laundry to be done so I can put my favorite sweatpants back on. I've worn them as PJs every night for the last 5 nights already, so I thought they may need a night off. I live in them during the winter.

It's taking everything in me not to start decorating for Christmas just yet. The weather is cool, and I just don't have a lot of Thanksgiving decorations. Mr. Jones' was a Thanksgiving birthday, so when we got married it was all about "respecting the turkey" but now… now we usually both give in and start decorating early because we love it so very much.

I'm extra excited for decorating this year, because for the first time we will have our separate Disney-themed tree. Few things excite me more. It's going to be so much fun. I just have to figure out where it will go….

This weekend has been a lazy one so far at our house. We've got church in a few hours - we HAVE to get back in the habit of going. We've been bad. And there might be a little landscaping in our future as well. But yesterday we watched lots of episodes of The West Wing, and I cleaned out my part of the DVR while I did laundry and cleaned up our room. It was heavenly.

Here's to the first lazy weekend in months and months. It's been good for our souls…

I'm baaaaaaack....

So, about that unintended month-long blogging hiatus. It happened. I flopped. Kinda like EB, right?

Life has been kicking my butt, and a slight cold has slowed me down enough to get my blog reading, commenting - and finally, writing, back in the swing of things.

How is that we are facing Halloween and November - and the holidays not long after?! It's a little unreal. How did the fall go by so quickly?

I've got so much to share! Family adventures, bargain hunting and holiday planning. Can't wait to get caught up on life with some fabulous readers...

A Day of Silence...

Little Miss Busy...

That is about the only way to describe the past few weeks. It's been non-stop, and I've got big news! I landed a new job with my same company, and I start after Thanksgiving. It's the perfect job for me, and I'm so excited. Just moving offices, so it's a little getting settled and reorganized!

Then, you know.... there are those things called holidays rapidly approaching. I'm beginning Christmas prep tonight, so everything can be decorated by the time family arrives the day after Thanksgiving. EB is very confused by all the trimmings going up. That makes it even cuter.

But.... I'm back to blogging, and I just wanted to fill you in on the big changes heading my way, and explain my absence! I also just got back from a fabulous trip to Ohio, and I've got to share all of those pictures too More soon friends!

Clearing my head...

Morning lovelies!

I'm sitting here absolutely beat, but in a good way. For the first time in about six weeks? I got a lot done to start my day! Victory is mine!

The garden is watered.
The tiny front porch is swept and the ferns are watered too.
Laundry has been going all morning.

In other news.... I got a haircut! Finally. It was needed after pulling my hair up for 3 1/2 weeks while so sick. And highlights. Oh the highlights! Not the best picture, but you get what I mean....

I've found another tea I love (another sick-time find!) and I want to try this new line of OPI nail polish for a mani-pedi soon.....

Make it stop...

My world has been SPINNING for the last 10 days. I'm here, I promise. I've got so much to share I don't even know where to start.

Christmas. New Orleans. Alabama winning the BCS National Championship. Visits with old friends. Gymnastics season. Sweet date nights. Oh yeah, and I've got a massive cold.

I'll get there.

But first, maybe I should take down our last piece of Christmas decor: our big living room tree. I may have to fight EB off when I begin. She has claimed the tree as hers, sleeping under it, snacking under it and just turning the low clearance into her own personal playground. Any of y'all have this problem with your pups?

We'll see how this goes....

The green I dream for you...

Haha. Forgive this gratuitous puppy picture of a post. But EB liked our new recycling bin when we got it, and I snapped this picture. It makes me laugh.

I did actually want to discuss recycling as well. :-) After the tornado hit, recycling got a little harder. But things are picking up, our recycling center is open again, AND my office has started accepting both magazines and newspapers for recycling. So I take my reading material to work and recycle it all in one step! Love that...

I've tried to get a lot more consistent with my recycling this fall, and it's been great. I feel better knowing I'm doing it too. I go through so much paper, and hated throwing stuff away.

A friend sent me this picture. Halloween for Eve Belle anyone? I died laughing. She would hate it. But I would love, love, love the pictures and fun it would be....

Mr. Jones didn't like my idea for our costumes last night. I want to be a Starbucks cup and make him go as my Starbucks Gold Card. He did NOT find it to be amusing.... maybe he'd find going as Ron and me going as Hermione with EB stealing the show as Harry Potter to be more his style.... We haven't dressed up in a few years and I think we need to this year!

A Perfect "Thank You"

We all know I'm a crazy deal hunter. :-) So when I got a code for a FREE Tiny Prints card from one of my favorite savings blogs, I jumped on it. Didn't even have to pay shipping. I used the free card to make a sweet thank you for Mr. Jones' aunt, who took care of Eve for us last weekend. This is what we sent her...

Yeah, I love it a lot. Almost wish I could have kept it, but I took pictures instead. Can't wait to hear that it arrived - I think she's going to love it!
