Holiday shopping tips...

{via}

We all know I love to save a little money while I shop, right? Because really, I love to shop. More than I should. More than I can afford to. So I clip a few coupons and use a few fabulous sites and get a lot more for my money that way.

Since it is the season to shop (word!) I wanted to share my favorite ways to save today!

Ebates
You can sign up for Ebates here to start getting cash back on almost all of your online purchases! I just got a check back for $11 from not much shopping at all. I love free money...

Retail Me Not
This site lets you search by store and find coupons and deals you can use!

Rue La La
A great site to get fabulous gifts (for you or others!) at a pretty good discount usually. I've gotten Brookstone, Lilly Pulitzer and Vera Bradley on the site before! You can sign up for an account here.

Hope these help as we all gear up for some holiday shopping! Tis the season, right?

On the hunt for glasses?

I'm not sure how many readers know, but I have terrible eyes! The life of a writer and editor, I guess, right? Well, if you're the same way, you know a great pair of glasses eyeglasses is exactly what you need when you're fed up with your contacts for the night (or the entire weekend if you're having a lazy one like I am!)

So, I wanted to share a little bit about GlassesUSA.com with all of you lovely readers! They have great customer service, and I've been browsing there for my next pair! I've only got one pair right now, and I need a backup!

This fun site offers high quality glasses frames and lenses - and they have a 110 percent lowest price guarantee. You know I'm all about saving money! On top of that, they have a 100 percent satisfaction guarantee, which is huge for me when I'm shopping online!

The cool feature they've introduced is their Virtual Mirror! How cool is this? You can check yourself out in online eyeglasses!

And, in case you're looking to make a purchase, take advantage of their fabulous storewide offer right now:
- 15 percent off PLUS free shipping on orders over $50 with the code FS15
- 10 percent off any order of prescription glasses with the code Blog10

Happy shopping!

XOXO,
Mrs. Jones

January Julep...

After passing on the last two months of my Julep Maven box, I am SOOOO excited to get back in the swing this month with the January box. The "neon and nude" collection is gorgeous.

See?

Photobucket

Isn't it gorgeous? Anyways, I know I've shared before, but if you are interested, you can click here and enter the code MAVENINTRO to get your first box for only ONE CENT! Love it.

Photobucket

This will be my "classic with a twist" box. I love both colors, and I'm so excited to wear them - and the hand and cuticle stick should be amazing. I'm ready for it to arrive!

Photobucket

I even hit up the year-end sale. I didn't get the suede collection when it debuted, so I snagged these three colors (and a scarf!) for just $16 total. I can't wait for it to come. I think these are great mid-winter colors. One more day of deep-ceaning on the house, and then it's BACK to manicured nails for me!

Photobucket

What are you wearing? Are you a Julep Maven? Tell me more!

Laundry experiments...

It's no secret I'm a fan of Crowdtap. I love it - but I love it even more when I get sent a dozen samples of Woolite Extra Dark to try and share with my friends. (Apparently my friends like it a lot too!)

I finally got around to catching up on laundry this morning and and trying the new Woolite out on my dark sweaters. I was really happy with how it worked! I have to be so particular about laundry detergent, because Mr. Jones gets bothered by certain scents or brands. So far so good with this one though!

I'm grateful for the coupon Woolite included, because I think I'll be buying a bottle to use with my favorite jeans and sweaters. I have the hardest time keeping dark sweaters looking good - do you have that problem too? I think this is going to help a lot!

What are you laundry secrets or tips? I'm dying to know! Here's to finishing all of the laundry and getting things organized for an impending beach trip!

A little eShakti love... and discount!

I've got another little find to share with you guys today! eShakti sent me a dress to try out, and for once, I decided to try something a little outside of the box.

I selected the hot tropics maxi dress, which is a little louder than my everyday apparel. But why not use this opportunity to try something new? So I selected it and it arrived just a couple of weeks later!

The dress itself is well made, and the top of it is gorgeous. Due to my rather short stature, the amount of floral didn't work very well for me. I tried it a few ways, and then found a solution that made me love the dress.

I shortened it. Or, well, I'm in the process of shortening it. My sweet grandmother is helping me with that. I would have waited to share this when I had a photo of me actually wearing my awesome new dress, but eShakti sent me a promo code to share with everyone, so I wanted to go ahead and post!

From now until July 31, the code JLN9NES can get you 10% off eShakti apparel - and it can be used in addition to the existing "up to 40% off" sale! Enjoy lovelies!

I am so grateful that I got to try something outside of my comfort zone thanks to eShakti. I totally love their selection, so I doubt this will be my only item from their company! Check it out here and let me know what you think!

Frugal Friday: Freebies!

TBIt has been forever since I've posted about my lovely couponing habit, and it's because I've been rather slow and behind with it. I haven't done a ton except for groceries, partly because we just haven't needed as much! That's the nice thing about having a mini stockpile, right?

I have gotten a couple of cool freebies in the mail! I do e-Rewards surveys for certain values, and you get "cash" you can redeem for gift cards and the like. I had $75 in e-Rewards values, so I snagged a $25 Starbucks card for nothing. I was excited. The surveys are simple most of the time and I do them when I'm bored. I like free money!
You can check it out here if you want to join!

And from a reward I had already entered, I won a big prize this weekend! I had to sign for my mail and I had no idea why on Saturday.... imagine my surprise when the Disney Car Land Adventure Sweepstakes sent me a $100 Target card! Super excited to take care of a few house things with it, that's for sure. (Like a new back door mat!)

Just wanted to share these little things today. I'll get back to posting coupon fun and deals soon, I promise!

Mrs. Jones

Tap in?

I thought I'd take a minute to share something I've signed up for tonight. CrowdTap is a fairly new little social media thing, where you get to weigh in on likes, favorites and more. You keep up with it, and increase your level, and you get fabulous perks!

It's currently in Beta mode, so if you want to sign up, you need a referral link (like this).

Just wanted to share! I know a few of you are slightly deal and bargain crazy like me, so enjoy! Join here if you want to get in on it too!

Frugal Friday: Birthday style!

One of my FAVORITE things about my birthdays is when all of these things come in the mail! $15 off at LOFT, $10 off at Victoria's Secret, free food from tons of places.... totally cool! Check it out...

On the non-birthday, regular couponing and deal-hunting front, I've snagged some other fabulous things...

When I scored that one, I was SO excited. Can't wait for a cheap date night!

I got some great coupons in the mail too....

And I scored some more freebies at Target and Wal-Mart! Yay for free necessities like Advil, toothpaste and deodorant! Right?

That's all for now! Thanks for the birthday wishes!

Mini fail...

So, I posted about an Amazon magazine deal yesterday. I thought I got four free magazine subscriptions. Turned out it had used a gift card balance without my knowledge. So I'm trying to get the "order" cancelled through Amazon. I was saving that up for a Christmas present I wanted to purchase.... oops. We will see how that goes. I guess this is one of the few times a deal I wanted was not what I got!

So, sorry for the hopes I got up. It realllly was a blonde moment on my part.

It's just been that kind of day. Nothing went really wrong, but it was just that things didn't click. Nothing really went right. I've still got so much to do tonight. But my husband did make a fabulous pizza with a tomato we grew in our back yard. And we put a nice sweet pepper from a local farmer on it too. That made me happy too.

But ever have one of those days that you are just in a funk? I'm there....

I *pink puffy heart* mail...

If all this showed up for free in your mailbox, wouldn't you *pink puffy heart* the mail too?

Freebies are AWESOME. Especially my magazine subscription freebies.

Just saying.

A Perfect "Thank You"

We all know I'm a crazy deal hunter. :-) So when I got a code for a FREE Tiny Prints card from one of my favorite savings blogs, I jumped on it. Didn't even have to pay shipping. I used the free card to make a sweet thank you for Mr. Jones' aunt, who took care of Eve for us last weekend. This is what we sent her...

Yeah, I love it a lot. Almost wish I could have kept it, but I took pictures instead. Can't wait to hear that it arrived - I think she's going to love it!

Where do you get custom cards made?

Mrs. Jones

A little indulgence...

Yep, that's my kind of fun. Free and pampering. I snuck over to our Ulta after work yesterday, and had 30 sweet minutes of me time. It was AWESOME. Fekkai products are SO not in my price range, and I don't think I'd ever spend $30+ on a shampoo and style just for the heck of it. But for free? Sure! I'll play and try things out.

I did love the product, but again - not in my price range. Maybe as a treat one day.

I got to the counter, checked in, and had about a 15 minute wait. So I wandered the store, purchasing nothing, but marking things on my wish list. Check it out.

Yes, I do have a nail polish obsession. And, confession. My toes have been chipping for 5 weeks, and my nails are bare. Oops. I guess I should get on that, right?

Anyways, back to the hair stuff. I took a few random pictures as I ran errands, before I messed it up too badly. I like my "artsy" car shot. Haha.

That's all for last night's excursion. Hope you enjoyed. I certainly did!

On a random note, does anyone go get blowouts on a regular basis? Anyone? I'm curious.

XOXO,
Mrs. Jones

Wishful Wednesday: Bumble and Bumble

So, I know, most of my beauty products and hair care items I am able to score for free or super cheap through my lovely couponing addiction habit. But sometimes, I just want the really nice stuff. You know what I mean?

Here's what I'm crushing for and wishing on currently.....

Frugal Friday: Rite Aid style

Happy Friday everyone! I'm so glad today is here!

My best deal shopping (and pretty much all I've done so far) was at Rite Aid this week, which is unusual for me. Here's what my big shopping trip looked like:

Items purchased:
- 2 Hawaiian Punch Fruit Juicy Red 32 oz. drinks
- Crest Sensitive toothpaste
- Crest Pro-Health toothpaste
- 2 Fiber One bars (clearance)
- 4  bags Ritz Bitz with cheese
- 2 Sally Hansen mini tweezers
- 2 Sally Hansen nail clippers

Subtotal: $.83
Tax: $2.10
Total: $2.93

Savings after sales and coupons: $37.53

I was pretty excited, and I think I'm going to work the Ritz Bitz and Sally Hansen deals again today, because Mr. Jones loves those for snacks, and I always lose my nail clippers and tweezers!

XOXO and Happy Friday,
Mrs. Jones

Frugal Friday:

First of all, posts like this one on Hip2Save are why I attempt to coupon and bargain shop. Inspirational and soooo fun! I mean, really? Free stuff is awesome.

Last week, I hit up some good clearance sales and stuff. I even scored new makeup brushes from Target!

I scored this fabulous deal for a 4-disc Best of Discovery set on Discovery's website thanks to Hip2Save, one of my favorite deal sites. The disc set was on clearance, and there is an awesome code available. I paid less than $3!

Awesome, huh? I thought I'd share, because this will make an awesome gift later!

I made out like a bandit at Target on Wednesday. Yes, I spent $60. But I saved $40, stocked up on necessities, and got $15 back in gift cards. And I have a $4 mail-in rebate to send off. And another mail-in rebate that scores me a free makeup bag. Wooooo!

And, finally, it was an AWESOME week and a half for freebies that rolled in. I got my check on Tuesday from Ebates for $21. Free money. Yay. On top of that, here's what rolled in:

Biolage shampoo and conditioner samples
CoverGirl NatureLuxe foundation samples
Coupons for two free 12-packs of Coca-Cola (yay, MyCokeRewards

I call this week a victory. And I haven't even made it to CVS yet. :-)

Happy Frugal Friday everyone!
XOXO,
Mrs. Jones
