The Wine Chronicles: Beach Wine

The final family beach trip post, this might be my favorite. I was surrounded by lovers of fine wine as we enjoyed a week of beach reveling in Seaside, Florida. So my daily wine consumption was a little higher than normal. And the quality of said consumption..... let's just say it was completely out of my league! I loved every minute of it, of course.

You should have seen the look on my face when my dad pulled out a bottle of Cristal he had been saving for when we were all together to celebrate the wonderful spring and summer our family had. It was QUITE a treat to enjoy a glass of that bubbly together!

But that wasn't the only fun taste test we had during the week!

Quintessa was exquisite. It was one amazing red. Only one other I've had tops it, and you'll read about it next. I loved it. But at roughly $150 a bottle? It won't be showing up on our wine rack.

And are you ready to giggle? We even drank a bottle of this sitting on the beach one afternoon. It was heavenly.

Cabernet Sauvignon

The Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon? It was awesome. We ended the vacation with a few bottles of this beauty, and I fell in love. This one hit the $110 price point, so it was a little lower for this vintage, but whew. So good nonetheless!

It was really hard to come back home and start drinking my cheap wine again, but I've managed. These great wines are in the back of my brain now though, so I'll always remember them and cherish the memories we made while drinking them.

Does your family pull out great bottles of wine for special occasions? Can you tell a difference in fine wine and the everyday stuff? I'm curious to know what y'all think!

Hope you enjoyed this upscale Wine Chronicles! I was blessed to get to share them with my family!

XOXO,
Mrs. Jones
