Fighting my way back...

Well, it's been 16 days since I've sat down to write, and I don't have much fun to share tonight. I wasn't feeling well when I posted my fun Old Navy update, but I thought my bronchitis was on its way to getting better.

Not so fast.

Two days later, I was diagnosed with pneumonia, and the longest few weeks of my life began. It was so bad, Mr. Jones had to stay home with me for two days straight. I'm grateful he could, because I was out of it.

I've been back to work for most of this week, but it's taken all of my energy to make it through most of the day. Today, I ran out. I left at lunch and came home to take a four hour nap. I'm beat, my body is exhausted, and I know there's still a ways to go toward a full recovery.

I've been blessed with a patient husband, and some amazing friends who have brought food, love and help over to help me get past this. It's a very odd feeling to actually need to rely on the help of friends. This is a first for me. I'm not sure what I'd be eating if left to our own devices this week.

I could totally use your thoughts and prayers. I head back to the doctor tomorrow, and hope everything still looks good and I'm on my way back to the land of the living. It's been a long road. I'm ready for it to be over.

XOXO,
Mrs. Jones

An Old Navy shopping spree...

Happy Tuesday y'all!

On Friday, I got to have an absolute blast with a couple of friends thanks to Old Navy and Crowdtap! I have blogged about Crowdtap before, and gotten some great perks, but this one was the best!

I was chosen to be a member of the Old Navy Style Council and Old Navy sent me and a few friends to try out their new bottoms and shoes for an afternoon of fun! My friends and I each got to take home a fabulous new pair of bottoms (we got to choose from pants, shorts, skirts and capris!) and shoes! I hadn't gotten to go shopping in a while, so this was a huge treat and I found some amazing spring finds!

A full dressing room!

Outfit number 1
In search of a great spring top, and I loved this skirt!

Outfit number 2:
This light and summery top has been added to my wish list in about five colors!

Outfit number three:
And we have a winner! I did not have a single pair of sore that fit, and these awesome 3 1/2 inch navy shorts are just the ticket - they look dressy enough for even our casual church, and summery enough to run around and have a lazy Saturday!

So these were my winners from the "bottoms" portion of our day! What do you think? They are the perfect khakis in ink blue. You can find them here. Anyone else have some great shorts they love? I'm 26 and a professional now, so I needed something that was a little more age appropriate, not to mention my size! I feel good about these and don't have to worry about them riding up or being uncomfortable, so we are good to go!

I love Old Navy flats. I had two great pairs that got me through winter at the office for such a reasonable price, and I'm super excited about these floral and bow flats! You can check out Old Navy's awesome shoe collection here.

Two of my sweet friends had a blast shopping it up and trying on new spring clothes! My friend, A, was looking for some great casual work items, and I think she found them. She had fun too!

I am in love with her white skirt, and will be heading back to purchase it soon! Don't you love it? She was in need of some flat sandals for working long days, and she found them as well!

My friend, J, wanted a great pair of khaki capris, and she found an awesome pair of black wedge sandals to go with them. She also snagged this cute blue top for just $10 thanks to their great sale!

We had a blast spending our afternoon at Old Navy together! Talk about the perfect lunch break! I'm very grateful for great friends, Crowdtap and Old Navy!

Our full shopping bags heading out.... Husband was scared until I told him what we had been doing. He is very grateful as well to Old Navy. Hahahaha.

On the way out, of course, I saw something else that caught my eye. I hadn't seen it anywhere in our store, but I came home to find it online. Sadly, it must be super new, because it wasn't online yet either. I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for it. Dresses are my weakness and that beautiful green dress is totally perfect for work and church.

And of course, we ended our trip with some delicious froyo! Can't beat that!

And if you are looking to join Crowdtap and build your profile to get to do awesome stuff like this, check it out here!

XOXO and huge thanks to Crowdtap and Old Navy,

Happy Easter!

What a beautiful morning it is! Christ has risen, and it's going to be such a beautiful day to celebrate.

I find myself up a little earlier than normal to make breakfast for today (yum!) and make my egg muffins for the week to keep with my primal eating. Last week was a flop, so I'm trying to work ahead for this week.

My sweet husband and I exchanged Easter goodies and gave Eve a new box of treats this morning while still curled up in bed. I made him a shadow box (well, bought it and decorated it) to keep his ticket stubs in, because he loves to collect them from all the fun things we get to attend.

So this morning while my egg muffins bake, I'm drinking coffee, eating my breakfast and actually sat down to blog. I can't believe how fast this week flew by, I have so much to tell about and share - and can't believe I haven't posted for five days.

It had been a long few weeks for me, and I had been struggling, but this beautiful, most meaningful day? It's wiped all that away. I feel refreshed, and loved, and beyond blessed by a beautiful Savior who laid down his life for me - and then he conquered the grave. It's certainly something to celebrate... Makes me thing we should walk around singing "My Redeemer Lives" a little more often, because it is an everyday reality and I think I'm bad about focusing too little on this wonderful gift.

That's all for this morning. I hope everyone has a wonderful day full of friends and family to celebrate the resurrection!

XOXO,
Mrs. Jones

Getting crafty with it...

Over my break a couple of weeks ago, I spent an afternoon enjoying time with a sweet friend and playing with one of her fabulous toys - an embroidery and sewing machine! Now, I'm not "sew" crafty, but she was a great teacher and I enjoyed the afternoon. I fell in love with her machine on top of it all and can't wait to go visit and do it again. We knocked out six baby gifts during the afternoon!

Here's a glimpse:

Yep, you bet there were some Bama baby gifts involved! SO many pregnant friends, and so many gifts to deal with. But doing it this way was certainly fun!

Do any of you sew? I think I'd like to get a sewing machine, but I don't think I could get one like the one above! Couldn't justify the price (yet!)

XOXO and happy crafting,
Mrs. Jones
