New workouts and more....

Happy Super Bowl!

We're kind of sort of watching the game, while I simultaneously cook and clean and all that jazz. It's been a pretty good, relaxing weekend. But I still never feel like everything is done! You know what I mean?

Anyways, on to what I want to talk about tonight: workouts. I'm pretty darn proud of myself. I've been doing well. The scale at my gym is broken right now, so I'm not quite sure where I stand weight-loss wise, but I'll know soon enough.

More than a week ago, I started something new. And I'm hooked. I took my first Zumba class. I haven't gotten to go to another one, but my sweet husband gave me the Xbox 360 Kinect Zumba game. Addicting. And painful.

I took Sunday off, then on Monday I had the bright idea to try another new thing. Jillian Michaels. I did "Shred It With Weights" and thought I was going to die. :-)

So, this is what my last week looked like in workouts:
Saturday: 60 minute Zumba class
Sunday: Off
Monday: 25 minute Jillian Michael's Shred It With Weights
Tuesday: 25 minutes elliptical; 21 minutes treadmill
Wednesday: 35 minutes elliptical
Thursday: Off
Friday: 20 minutes elliptical; 20 minutes treadmill
Saturday: Off

Not bad, right? I didn't have any plans for last week, but I'm going to try to plan things out this week We'll see how that goes. Today I did a 20 minute session of Zumba with the Xbox. Loved it!

What types of workouts are you guys doing? Any suggestions?

Mrs. Jones

  1. Good job on the workouts! I do about 50-60 of cardio 6 days a week and 20-30 of weights but Im also crazy haha

  2. i keep hearing about zumba! i think i need to try it! i just got a core ball and a workout video to go with it! gotta figure out what i want to do for cardio though!

  3. I am so glad you liked SIWW. I am a Jillian nut. I have been doing her Yoga Meltdown video with my run every day before school and I am loving it. I downloaded SIWW but haven't tried it yet because marathon training is already intense and I was looking for something a little more chill to pair with it. Also, I really need to try Zumba! We have a Wii and an Xbox so there is really no excuse for me not working out with them....

  4. I too have jumped on the Zumba bandwagon. I have the Wii game and I'm loving it. I also have the Dance with Julianne: Cardio Ballroom DVD and I love it. Other than that, I like to work in some ball exercises to strengthen my core.
